30 Day Film Challenge Day 12: A film you hate from your favourite genre

A film that I hate from my favourite genre is Suicide Squad from the action/ superhero genre. It’s just one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. However, I’m still going to go see James Gunn’s sequel/ reboot where I assume he saves the whole thing. This movie starts with twenty full minutes of character backstory which is so unnecessary. Then the middle is slow and they fast track the ending. The movie is all over the place and the characters are not interesting at all and have no depth. I generally don’t like DC films (the exception of Joker), but this one is another level of terrible. It’s a shame because I really like Margot Robbie and Will Smith, but their characters have no depth. I also did not like Jared Leto’s version of Joker as it made me very uncomfortable. I understand that is a part of the character, however it’s all wrong. In comparison to the movies of Marvel, DC just can’t compete.
