Overrated Christmas Movie: How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

Don’t get me wrong I love this story and I love Dr.Seuss but I just can’t stand this movie anymore. Jim Carey is great in this movie but the older you get the more you realize just how twisted and strange this representation of the classic children’s story really is. They add a lot of weird romance and sexual innuendos that I find completely unnecessary. This is a Christmas movie. It is for children. It also is not that close to the original book and animated film when you really watch it.  I find the pacing of the movie really off, but I love the sets and costumes. Sure it is funny and I will probably end up seeing it on cable this Christmas, but it’s just not my favourite and I find it super overrated
